About AgraWest Foods.
AgraWest Foods located in Souris, Prince Edward Island Canada began operations in 1997 and became the first and only potato dehydration operation on PEI. The idea started with a small group of farmers and investors that believed in further developing the island’s potato industry to include potato dehydration. In 2000 Idaho Pacific purchased Agrawest and since then has invested in the operation to expand its product offerings to serve the needs of its ingredient and foodservice customers. Our AgraWest Foods team members are highly skilled with a focus on meeting or exceeding our customers food safety expectations and in delivering a high quality, consistent product.
Production Capabilities.
AgraWest Foods produces dehydrated potato Granules, Flour, Agglomerates and mixes.
We offer many different ingredient specifications for multiple end-product applications. From full cook to low leach, low peel, our diverse production capabilities give us the ability to manufacture and supply the right product for you.
Our foodservice product capabilities include complete mashed potato mixes either blended or agglomerated.
Our highly skilled Research & Development team is ready to assist you to solve your technical needs or to develop customized specifications for your business needs.
Our packaging capabilities are diverse ranging from poly pouches, #10 tins, kraft bags, and polyethylene bulk sacks.

Prince Edward Island grows over 86,000 acres of potatoes each year and is the #1 potato producing province in Canada. The iron rich soil and ideal growing conditions consistently produce high quality potatoes which are famous worldwide. The varieties of potatoes grown are primarily Russet with Russet Burbank being the most common. Other varieties include round whites, reds, and yellows. With 60% of the crop grown for processing use the industry is well positioned to store and supply throughout the processing season.

The products produced in this facility are certified Kosher by the Orthodox Union (OU).
The products produced in this facility are certified Halal by the Islamic Food and Nutrition Council of America (IFANCA).
